Employer brand and recruiting

Find employees through social mediawith your own people on camera

Applicants want to know who they will work with and what a normal day looks like. We film employee videos at your business and run your job openings as ads where your future employees already spend their time.

Who this page is for

This page is for employers in all industries who want to fill vacancies through social media or strengthen their employer brand.

Most often these are care homes, home care services and clinics, freight forwarders and logistics centres that need drivers and warehouse staff, trade businesses, industrial and manufacturing companies, hospitality and hotels, retail, and businesses looking for apprentices.

Typical goals

The goal is usually more suitable applications, including from people who are not actively searching.

Job portals only reach people who are already searching. Through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn you also reach skilled workers who are content enough not to search but would switch for a better offer. That takes two things: content that shows what it is like to work for you, and ads that deliver your opening to the right region and audience.

Formats and services that fit

We use these building blocks for employer brand and recruiting.

Employee videos

Your employees talk about what they do every day and why they stay. We guide the conversation so it sounds natural and not memorized.

A day on the job

A video follows a nurse, a warehouse worker or an apprentice through the working day. This way applicants see what they are signing up for.

Job ads as social ads

We turn your job opening into video ads and run them on Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn. You pay the ad budget directly to the platform.

Channels with an employer focus

Ongoing posts about team, training and business, so applicants looking at your profile find more than the last job ad.

Careers page

A page with openings, videos and a short application form that your ads link to. We build it as part of your website.

Set the number of videos, length, editing, hooks and usage. The calculator compares single prices and packages and shows you the lowest option in one minute, no sign-up needed.

Your own employees or performers?

For employer videos we recommend your own employees, because these are exactly the people applicants will meet later.

We use performers from our pool of around 20 creators and performers where the message is general, for example as the speaker in an ad. Anyone appearing as an employee in the video should actually be one, otherwise the workplace is misrepresented.

Getting employee consent right

Employee videos need proper consent. These points generally apply and are no legal advice.

  • Anyone who can be recognized in the video must consent to publication under § 22 KUG (German Art Copyright Act).
  • In an employment relationship, the Federal Labour Court requires this consent to be given in writing (judgment of 11 December 2014, 8 AZR 1010/13). Only then is it clear that it is given independently of the duties under the employment contract.
  • Participation must be voluntary. Anyone who does not want to appear on camera must not suffer any disadvantage.
  • State the purpose, channels, use in ads and duration in the declaration.
  • Cover withdrawal and departure explicitly. According to that judgment, consent without a time limit does not end automatically with the employment, at least for videos without a particular focus on the person. For a later withdrawal, the court required a plausible reason.
  • Data protection rules apply as well. Align the declaration with your data protection adviser.

Common mistakes

  • Copying blocks of text from the job portal ad onto social media.
  • Filming employees without written consent or silently expecting them to take part.
  • Requiring an application form that takes ten minutes on a phone.
  • Not wording job ads neutrally. Under § 11 AGG (German General Equal Treatment Act), jobs must not be advertised in breach of the ban on discrimination, which is why notes like (m/f/d) are common.
  • Showing only the management and leaving out the people applicants would work with every day.
  • Launching a campaign without deciding who will reply to applications quickly.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does recruiting through social media also work for care and logistics?

Yes, especially there, because many skilled workers in care and logistics do not search on job portals but use Instagram, Facebook or TikTok every day. What matters is clear messaging, real insights and an application process that takes a few minutes on a phone.

Do we need written consent from our employees?

Yes. In 2014 the Federal Labour Court ruled that employees' consent under § 22 KUG must be given in writing (8 AZR 1010/13). The declaration should also explicitly cover purpose, channels, duration and departure, ideally with help from a lawyer.

What happens to the video when an employee leaves the company?

According to the Federal Labour Court ruling, consent without a time limit does not end automatically with the employment, at least for videos without a particular focus on the person. It is clearer if you cover this case in the consent beforehand, for example with a fixed term or a rule for replacing the video.

On which platforms do we run job ads?

For skilled trades, care and apprenticeships, Meta with Instagram and Facebook plus TikTok are usually the starting point. For office specialists and managers, LinkedIn is added. Which platform fits depends on audience and region.

Can you also shoot with performers instead of employees?

Yes, FNLY Social works with around 20 bookable creators and performers. For employer videos we still recommend your own employees, because applicants will later meet exactly these people and a staged team can create a false impression.

What does a recruiting campaign cost?

In the Ads package the videos cost €1,190 net for 5 videos with 3 hooks each. On top come the ad budget, which you pay directly to the platform, and ad management if needed. You receive a specific quote after the initial call.

How quickly do applications come in?

We make no promise on the number or timing of applications, because that depends heavily on the job, region and working conditions. We make sure ad, video and application process are right and adjust the campaign based on the first results.
